¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo fue el fin de semana? ¿Qué os parece si empezamos la semana por todo lo alto? En el post de hoy os acercamos uno de los movimientos artísticos que más me gusta, el Hiperrealismo. 

Good morning! How was the weekend? In today’s post I write about one of the artistic movements that I like the most, the Hyperrealism.

En estas líneas haremos un recorrido breve por la genealogía de este movimiento, desde sus orígenes hasta la actualidad. El hiperrealismo nace en EEUU a finales de los sesenta bajo el nombre de photorealism, puesto que muchos de los artistas hacían uso de la cámara de fotos como herramienta de apoyo para trasladar esa imagen al lienzo, mediante recursos mecánicos, semimecánicos o técnicos. La nitidez de estas pinturas producen una verdadera ilusión fotográfica. 

In these lines I will make a brief tour of the genealogy of this movement, from its origins to the present. The hyperrealism was born in the U.S. in the late sixties under the name of photorealism, because of many of the artists were using the camera as a support tool to move the image to the canvas, using mechanical devices, semi-mechanical or technical. The sharpness of these paintings produce a real photographic illusion.



La cámara es utilizada por los artistas de este movimiento como instrumento para informar del día a día de la vida americana, y a la par, investigar sobre la perspectiva, la percepción y de cómo la fotografía ha modificado nuestro vínculo con la realidad objetiva. El hiperrealismo recibe del arte pop,  la pasión por los escaparates, los automóviles, la iconografía kitsch, imágenes estereotipadas todas ellas. La más extrema proximidad ocupa el lienzo de este tipo de pinturas, se trata de detalles agigantados, como juguetes, tubos de pintura, letras, coches. Por otro lado, dentro del hiperrealismo también existe el paisaje panorámico al más puro estilo Canaletto, como Richard Estes o Ben Johnson. 

The camera is used by the artists of this movement as a tool to inform day-to-day American life, and also for investigating the perspective, the perception and how the photography has changed our relationship with objective reality. The hyperrealism receive from the pop art, the passion for the windows, automobiles, kitsch iconography, all stereotypical images. The most extreme doable ranks canvas paintings of this type, it is gigantic details such as toys, tubes’ paint, bills, cars. Moreover,  there is also the panoramic scenery like Canaletto, as Richard Estes and Ben Johnson works.


El hiperrealismo adquiere importancia y relevancia internacional a partir de 1972 con la celebración de la Documenta 5 de Kassel, y desde entonces se ha seguido trabajando en la misma línea, con diferentes materiales, gracias al avance de las tecnologías, que han permitido, a su vez, una mayor nitidez, modo high definition. Objetivo: producir imágenes con más vida que la misma realidad.

The hyperrealism acquires importance and international significance from 1972 with the celebration of the Kassel Documenta 5, and since then has continued to work on the same line with different materials, thanks to advances in technology that have enabled increasing sharpness, a high definition mode. Objective: producing images with more life than reality.
